This is the busy month of the year as many thing are happening at the same time and we have to plan well in order to achieve the goal that we set at the early of the year. One of those plan is to get away from work so we can refresh our mine.
The idea coming up for the staff retreat this year, we want to make it a bit different than going to just have fun at Sihanoukville province. We want to go a bit further to the island and we thought of Koh Tonsay (the rabbit island in Kampot), Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloeum.
However, 3 days is not gonna a lot so we have to plan well to get the most out of it. Our team has decide to go to Sihanoukville + touring 3 island in March 2015 with the budget of $3000 for 30 people.
Here is our plan:
Day 1:
Departure from Phnom Penh at 6AM
Arrival in Kampong Som at 11AM
Lunch at one of the restaurant at 12PM
Check in at the hotel at 1PM
Meeting + devotion at 2PM
Fun time until dinner
Dinner at 6PM at the beach
Day 2:
Breakfast at 6:30AM
Taking the boat to Koh Rong Sanloeum at 7:30AM
Leave the island at 3PM back to Sihanoukville and arrive at 5PM
Dinner at the beach at 6PM with special performance from the small group
Day 3:
Breakfast at 7AM
Depart from Kampong Som to Ream beach at 8AM
Having fun time and lunch at the beach until 2PM then take the buss to Phnom Penh
On the way we will stop for dinner somewhere near Pich Nil
Arrive Phnom Penh at 7PM
Cost breakdown in plan:
3 morning breakfast $300
Bus for 3 days cost $400
Boat to the island $20 x 30 $600 (lunch included on the boat)
Guesthouse for 30 people (15 rooms x $20 = $300 x 2 nights = $600)
2 lunches for 1st day and 3rd day $500 x 2 = $1000
2 special dinner at the beach $500 x 2 = $1000
1 dinner on the way back to Phnom Penh $100
Total budget is $4000
Note: Taking the boat to island usually cost $25 for each person. In order to get cheaper ticket price you have to contact one of the agent or someone you know who are working to organize the tour will cost you only $20 per person and the price included with lunch and drinking water.
If you want to rent one boat for your team the cost is around $380 for 1 day but if you want to stay at the island for 1 night for the boat to wait then the price will be added 50% of the 1st day price which is $570.
Finally because of the budget is too high and we cannot adjust it so we have to cancel the staff retreat. ;)
